Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) in Virginia reached out to Animal Services last week after learning that a turkey had crashed through the window of a private home and barricaded itself inside the bathroom. According to a post on Loudoun County Animal Services Facebook page, the family contacted police after hearing glass break and strange noises coming from inside the home.
"Deputies responded and found the suspect had barricaded themselves in the bathroom," they wrote, adding, "The culprit was about 3 feet tall with shiny black feathers, scaly legs, and a yellow beak."
With help from Turkey special forces and a team of animal experts, LCSO was able to subdue the animal and release him back into the wild.
"The rogue turkey was taken into custody, transported to and released in the front yard," the update continued. "When asked for comment on why he had committed this crime, he responded, 'gobble, gobble.'" Although officers are still scratching their heads trying to figure out what could have motivated a wild bird to break through a residential window, there is reason to believe he may have been planning on stealing the family's toilet paper. Lucky for him, he ended at that house and not another because it a few of the commenters threw in their two cents on how they would have held him hostage until Thanksgiving. Run Forrest, RUN! ???
